The waterfall of Golling

If you love nature and you're planning to visit Salzburg in the near future, I totally recommend you to visit the waterfall of Golling as well. It's one of the most amazing waterfalls I've ever seen (I know, I say this everytime, for every waterfall but believe me this time: this one is really breathtaking.)

It was raining and even snowing on the day when we went to see this waterfall. We were a bit angry in the morning because of the weather but then we decided to go anyway because we didn't want to miss this experience. Fortunately it stopped raining when we arrived to the parking lot near the waterfall (coordinates: 47.602207, 13.140956)

In the summer season (from May to October) there is a 4€ entrance fee but in April we just passed by a small fence, followed the path and nobody asked us anything. Okay I admit it that the entrance was 'closed' with a thin red tape but anyone can step over it easily. And of course we were not the only ones at the waterfall that day... there was even a shooting (probably for a local TV channel or something like that).

Had tourism gone too far? I mean, is it normal that we have to pay for natural wonders - for example waterfalls? Or do they have the right to close these places to the public in off season when no one is there to collect the entrance fee? What do you think? Clearly there wasn't any danger (ice or snow) and the path wasn't too muddy... I understand that the handrails and the path itself have a little maintenance or repair cost each year - just like any other public place such as a park or a forest. Apart from this, and the ticket store of course, there is no other service near the waterfall (eg. a tour guode or a cafe...) What do you think?

Perhaps I am wrong, but I'll never understand this. Anyway, the waterfall of Golling is definitely worth a visit - whether you have to pay an entrance fee for it or not. If you are into photography make sure to take your tripod with you so that you can take long exposure photos of this beautiful waterfall! :)

Minden természetkedvelőnek, aki Salzburg környékén jár, szívből ajánlom, hogy ejtse útba a gollingi vízesést is! Az egyik legszebb vízesés, amit valaha láttam (tudom, úgy tűnik, hogy minden vízesésre ezt mondom, de higgyétek el, ez tényleg lélegzetelállító). Aznap, amikor eljöttünk a vízeséshez április elején, egész nap felváltva esett az eső és havazott - mi mégis úgy döntöttünk, hogy nem fogjuk kihagyni ezt az élményt. Szerencsére az eső nagyjából elállt, amikor megérkeztünk Gollingba, a vízeséstől nem messze lévő parkolóba (koordináták: 47.602207, 13.140956)

Érdekes, hogy a vízesés megtekintéséhez a nyári szezonban, azaz május és október között fizetned kell: a felnőtt belépőjegy 4€-ba kerül. Szezonon kívül azonban ingyen is bejuthatsz ide. Szalaggal körbe volt kerítve ugyan a bejárat, viszont csak el kellett jönni a kis kerítés mellett, és követni az ösvényt. Nem csak mi jártunk ott aznap: még forgatás is volt (gondolom, egy helyi tévécsatornáé). 

Elgondolkoztam azon, hogy vajon túl messzire ment a turizmus? Úgy értem, van-e joga bárkinek belépőjegyet szedni azért, hogy megnézhessünk egy természeti csodát? Vagy ahhoz, hogy lezárjanak (még ha csak "jelképesen" is) egy helyet, amikor nincs ott valaki, hogy belépőjegyet szedjen? Mert veszély az nem volt az ösvényen, mindenhol van korlát, jég, hó, sehol nem volt, sáros talaj is csak minimálisan. Értem, hogy az ösvénynek/korlátnak van egy minimális fenntartási vagy javítási költsége minden évben, de ezt leszámítva semmilyen szolgáltatás nincs itt (pl. információs pult, idegenvezetés vagy kávézó az erdő közepén), csupán a kis jegyárusító bódé. 

Talán sosem fogom ezt megérteni, és talán nincs is igazam, de a gollingi vízesés mindenképp megér egy látogatást - akár kell fizetned érte, akár nem. Ha szeretsz fotózni, mindenképpen vidd magaddal az állványodat is, hogy hosszabb expozíciós idővel tudd fotózni a vízesést! :)
