Exploring the Algarve coast in 1 week | photo diary

Portugal, and the Algarve coast have been on my travel bucket list for ages. I remember when I first saw a photo of the Benagil caves I immediately knew that I just had to get there one day. If you have read my previous blogpost then you know how many difficulties we had to face to even get on the plane to Faro... and it was totally worth it. We made so many memories in a week that I am afraid I could not even put it into words.

I'm planning to write a 'TOP things to do in Algarve' type of post and some more detailed article about some of the beaches, programs or attractions. We discovered secluded little beaches and beautiful rock formations, kayaked into a beautiful cave where we were completely alone, swam next to a waterfall, took a surf lesson on the west coast, and so on... I wanted this post to be a 'teaser' with lot of pictures and of course some useful information about the public transport, car rental, airport transfer, weather conditions and water temperature, restaurant prices etc. I also write about the city of Lagos, it's beautiful beaches and the small hotel where we stayed during this week, and some of our favourite little restaurants too.

How to go?

We flew from Budapest to Faro with WizzAir - they currently have one flight per week, on Saturdays. If you are planning to stay in Lagos as we did, then the cheapest way to get there from Faro is by train. As far as I know there is a local bus that can take you from the airport to Faro train station (No. 16 maybe but I am not sure) but I did not search for the timetable. In my opinion it's worth to take a taxi because it's not so expensive, especially if you are travelling with your partner or friends. You have to pay about 10-11 € per car, so it costs about 5-6 € per person and the price of the bus ticket is about 2-3 euros. In general I rarely choose the taxi because it's an unnecessary waste of money I think, but this time it was a more comfortable solution and just a bit more expensive than the bus. Not to mention that we had more than one and a half hour train journey ahead of us. You can check out the timetable of trains running between Faro and Lagos here. If you are under the age of 26, you can even get a discounted price and the one way ticket only costs 5.55€ (the price of the normal adult ticket is 7.40€). The last train departs from Faro at 20:18 so try to catch it! If your plane will be landing later in the evening then book a private transfer in advance (but it's pretty expensive so you better stay in Faro for one night and continue your journey to Lagos the next morning...)

Car or scooter rental

If you have a driving licence I suggest you to rent a car at least for a few days. We didn't need it for the whole week but decided to rent one for 2 days because there are so many beautiful sights, beaches and even hidden waterfalls in the Algarve region which are difficult or even impossible to reach by public transport. You can rent a scooter too but I would rather recommend the car (if you want to take towels, sunshades or food with you it's more convenient). Fortunately you don't have to worry about the strict rental conditions of rentalcars.com as you can choose from several smaller, local car rental companies - for example Luzcar! They have offices in Lagos and even at Faro Airport. We rented a car for 2 days for 80 euros - full insurance and theft protection were INCLUDED in the price and there are no hidden costs or even deposit. If you have rented a car for example from Avis or Hertz before (as we did in the UK last year) then you know that the deposit can cost 300-500 € or even higher and you only can pay with a credit card (you don't have to really pay the deposit but they block this amount of money on your card so that's why debit cards usually don't work). But at Luzcar you can pay with cash, and they are very flexible, friendly and helpful (eg. they gave us a map, told us which road is free and where should we pay tolls etc.) Moreover, we paid for a smaller car but eventually we got another car from a higher category - for the same price! They had a full-full gasoline policy. We only spent about 25 euros for gasoline and it was more than enough for two days. And if you want to rent a car for 5 or 7 days the price per day is lower than short term rentals.

Parking fees and tolls

If you are planning to rent a car, keep in mind that on the road A22 there are pay tolls. In my opinion these tolls are quite expensive so we chose the road N125 instead. This is not much slower than A22, maybe you'll arrive to your destination 5-15 minutes later - but it's free. And you don't have to hurry in an amazing place like this! It's worth taking a GPS with you or download the Waze app so that you can choose on which road you want to drive. Parking is completely free in most places, for example at the beaches, small towns and suburban districts of larger cities. In Lagos you only have to pay for parking between 9 am and 7 pm in the pre-season. In the high season this period is slightly extended but it's also free at nights. It's worth wandering all day long and return the car only in the evening to the city (or if your hotel has a free parking lot, then there is no problem).

Where to stay?

I booked accommodation on booking.com as always. But this time we had a little problem before arriving: I ignored the fact that the hotel does a pre-authorization the week before our stay which means that they block an amount of money (about 35 euros) on your card. One night we woke up to a text from my bank that the transaction failed (there wasn't enoguh money on my card) so they will cancel my reservation in the next 24 hours. After a minor nervous breakdown we managed to transfer the money on my card and contact the receptionist of the hotel who was extremely kind and patient so fortunately we solved the problem on time. I chose Hotel Lagosmar because it's close both to the center of Lagos and the train station, there is a 24-hour reception so you can check in late (we arrived at 10 pm so this was important for us), and breakfast is included in the price. At first we were a bit disappointed because of the size of the room, but the cool rooftop terrace and the breakfast compensated everything. The rooms are cleaned everyday and we've got new, clean towels several times so I have to admit that we got spoiled for this price :D We paid approx. 115 € per person for a week. But there are also cheaper hotels and hostels in Lagos, around 80 € per week. (In comparison: similar hotels are usually far more expensive in Budapest, Hungary...)

Where to eat?

We always try to manage eating and drinking on a budget while traveling so we often choose pizzerias or cheaper, smaller restaurants. We were surprised that the prices in Portugal are much lower compared to other European countries - for example to Italy where an average main course in an inexpensive restaurant costs 10-13 euros, even pasta dishes. In Portugal, especially in smaller towns you can eat lunch or dinner for 5-8 euros! I admit that prices are a bit higher in Lagos but when we drove along the coast we stopped at Cafe Restaurante Horta (near Mealhas) where we got a huge chicken skewer with grilled vegetables, shrimp, and plenty of fries and salads just for 9€! On our last day we ate a hearty plate of lasagne bolognese in Faro for 8€ - it was larger, tastier and last but not least: cheaper than the one I ate in Italy. In Lagos we mostly ate at the following places:

MAR Restaurante & Bar: since it's close to Praia dos Estudantes beach and has a beautiful view, we often had lunch here. Pastas and fish dishes are a bit more expensive but very delicious. If you want cheaper meals choose some of the baguettes or burgers with fries which are also very tasty. I recommend you to try their cheesecake with berries - it's very addictive! Scroll down to find a photo of it! Yumm!
Mamma Mia Pizzeria: very delicious and cheap pizzas also available for takeaway, quickly made, almost in minutes. As this place was very close to our hotel we often bought pizzas for take away and had dinner on the rooftop terrace of our hotel. For the medium sized pizzas you have to pay 6-10 euros, and it was enough for the two of us but you can also buy large pizzas for 14€.
Casa do Zé: this cozy little restaurant is not the cheapest but we wanted to try it because it seemed more 'local' to us than any other places. There are mainly fish dishes here and I think it's a family run business, the owner/waitress is an adorable, smiling lady. If you like fish and want to have dinner at a real Portuguese restaurant, I recommend this place.

What to see and do in Lagos?

Take a walk in the historic center of Lagos. It feels so good to get lost on the narrow, cobblestoned streets where you can find exciting graffitis and paintings on the walls - not to mention the beautiful front doors and tiled houses!

Beaches: you can choose from several cool beaches in Lagos. Each one is beautiful in its own way but in my opinion the farther you go from the city center the more dramatic are the beaches. We tried all the big beaches in Lagos, from the Marina to the Ponta da Piedade:

Praia da Batata: or Potato Beach (what a funny name!) is a flatter, sandy beach, ideal for families. There is no natural shade there so it's worth to take a sun umbrella with you. In windy weather, especially in the pre-season this beach can be rather cool compared to those other beaches which are surrounded by tall cliffs. There is a restaurant nearby, and a small (and expensive) shop where you can buy water, beer or icecream.
Praia dos Estudantes: you can easily walk here from Praia da Batata and vice cersa. This was one of our favourite beaches because it's close to MAR Restaurante & Bar where we had lunch a few times. The rock formations are beautiful here but be careful because there are plenty of shells in the sand and they can hurt your feet easily. This beach is not windy and the rocks even provide natural shade from the late afternoon.
Praia do Pinhão: it's a beautiful beach with special, orange coloured sand. It's a bit far from any restaurants or shops so you may have to bring water and food with you, if you want to spend the whole day here. The cliffs give a natural shadow from late morning, so you don't need a sun umbrella.
Praia Dona Ana: it is a large, long beach surrounded by breathtaking cliffs. There is a path on the top of the cliffs from Praia do Pinhão. The view is really beautiful up there but be sure to wear the right shoes (we went in flip flops and it was not easy...) There is a beach bar here where you can also rent sunshades and 2 deckchairs for 10€.
Praia do Camilo: it's really far from the city center but it's worth to walk there because (in my opinion) it's the most beautiful from all the beaches of Lagos. It's relatively small though so it's worth coming early because it can get really crowded especially in the high season. It's also worth to take a sun umbrella with you. There is only one restaurant nearby which can get really crowded too. You have to wait until you are seated, sometimes even 20-30 minutes. If you don't want to queue, arrive early or bring your own lunch to the beach.

About the water temperature: in May the Atlantic Ocean is a bit cold but not unbearable. Depending on the beach the water temperature is about 18°C to 19°C. It's only uncomfortable to get in for the first time, after a few minutes you will get used to the temperature. It was quite pleasant to swim in the water. But if you can't stand cold water plan your visit in the high season - the hottest month is August - or hire a wetsuit for 4-5 euros per day.

Ponta da Piedade: a breathtaking rock formation in the western part of Lagos. Make sure to come there at least once. At sunset, everything has a special lilac colour but I guess that the sunrise is even more beautiful from there (unfortunately we were to lazy to wake up early...) There are plenty of boat excursions and kayak tours to Ponta da Piedade. You can find small booths in the harbour of Lagos and along the beach promenade where you can book these excursions.

Marina de Lagos: most of the boat tours depart from the port, but you also can enjoy a coffee in some of the cozy little places, while admiring the boats.

Mercado Municipal de Lagos: freshly caught fishes and seafood, local cheeses, wines, fruits, vegetables and other delicacies are waiting for you at this market. I always enjoy exploring the local markets while traveling even if I don't buy anything. Local markets have a very cosy atmosphere and at most vendors you can ask for a taste.

Sports: water sport enthusiast will love this place - you can rent a jet ski, SUP or a kayak, go on an organized kayak tour or take surfing lessons on the west coast. We, for example rented a kayak in Benagil and went on a one-day surf safari. I will write a more detailed post about these experiences later!

Portugália, azon belül is az Algarve partvidék régóta szerepelt az utazós bakancslistámon. Amikor először megpillantottam egy, a Benagil barlangról készült fotót, rögtön tudtam, hogy nekem egyszerűen el kell jutnom ide egyszer. Ha olvastátok a legutóbbi blogposztot, akkor tudjátok, mennyi nehézséggel szembesültünk, mire egyáltalán eljutottunk idáig, de azt kell mondjam, megérte. Annyi impulzus ért minket az egy hét alatt, hogy szinte szavakba sem tudom önteni.

Tervezek majd egy 'TOP akárhány dolog, amit blablablabla Algarvéban' jellegű bejegyzést is, és részletesebben mesélek majd egy-egy környékről vagy látványosságról, amerre bóklásztunk. Felfedeztünk rejtett kis partokat, gyönyörű sziklaképződményeket láttunk, bekajakoztunk egy csodaszép kis barlangba, ahol teljesen egyedül voltunk, csobbantunk vízesésbe, részt vettünk egy egész napos szörfleckén, finomakat ettünk, és még sorolhatnám... Ezt a posztot egyrészt kedvcsinálónak szánom a képek miatt, másrészt néhány praktikus információt szeretnék megosztani veletek. Gondolok itt a közlekedésre, a reptéri transzferre, az időjárásra előszezonban, az autóbérlésre és az éttermi/bolti árakra. Röviden bemutatom Lagos városát, a hangulatos kis hotelt, ahol megszálltunk az itt töltött egy hét alatt, az itteni partokat és néhány kedvenc helyünket.

Kezdjük az utazással!

Budapestről Faróba repültünk a WizzAirrel - jelenleg heti egy járat indul, szombatonként (visszafelé is ugyanígy működik). Ha ti is Lagosban szeretnétek időzni, akkor Faróból legolcsóbban vonattal tudtok eljutni ide. Faro vasútállomásig érdemes taxival menni - elvileg a 16-os számú busz is megáll mind a reptéren, mind a vasútállomáson, de nem nagyon találtam a menetrendjét. A taxi sem olyan vészesen drága, főleg ha ketten-hárman utaztok. Nagyjából 10-11 euróért eljuttok taxival a reptérről a vasútállomásra. Ez fejenként 5-6 eurót jelent, a buszjegy ára pedig azt hiszem 2-3 euró körül mozog. Itthon nagyon ritkán taxizom, mert felesleges pénzkidobásnak érzem, most viszont sokkal kényelmesebb megoldás volt, arról nem is beszélve, hogy még egy több, mint másfél órás vonatút állt előttünk. A Faro és Lagos között közlekedő vonatok menetrendjét itt tudjátok elérni. Ha 26 éven aluliak vagytok, akkor még kedvezményesen utazhattok, az egyirányú vonatjegy mindössze 5.55 €-ba kerül (a teljes árú jegy 7.40€ volt, ha jól emlékszem). Az utolsó vonat este 20:18-kor indul, szóval azt érdemes elkapni. Ha ennél később száll le a gépetek, érdemes privát transzfert foglalni, vagy egy éjszakát Faróban maradni, mielőtt továbbmentek (a transzfer elég drága, megkockáztatom, hogy jobban jártok az utóbbi verzióval).

Autó- és robogóbérlés

Ha van jogsitok, mindenképpen béreljetek autót pár napra! Nem muszáj az utazás teljes idejére, mi is csupán két napra béreltünk - viszont annyi szépséges látnivaló, gyönyörű part, sőt vízesés van a környéken, ahová tömegközlekedéssel nehezen vagy egyáltalán nem lehet eljutni, hogy már csak ezért is megéri autóba pattanni. Robogót is bérelhettek, de kényelem szempontjából inkább az autót javaslom (ha vinnétek napernyőt, enni és innivalót az egész napos kalandra). Szerencsére nem muszáj a rentalscars.com-on keresztül elérhető kölcsönzők szigorú bérlési feltételeivel bajlódni, hiszen rengeteg kisebb, helyi vállalkozás közül is választhattok. Szívből ajánlom nektek például a Luzcart - van irodájuk Lagosban, sőt Faro repterén is. Két napra 80€-ért béreltünk autót - ebben az árban minden biztosítás és védelem benne volt, semmi rejtett költség, és kauciót sem kellett letenni. Ha béreltetek már pl. az Avisnál vagy a Herznél, akkor tudjátok hogy a bérléshez csak hitelkártyát lehet használni, és a biztonsági letét (amit zárolnak a bérlés idejére) nem ritkán a 300-500 €-t is meghaladja. A Luzcarnál lehet készpénzzel is fizetni, nagyon jófejek, rugalmasak, segítőkészek (pl. adnak térképet, elmondják, hogy melyik útszakasz fizetős, melyik nem). Mi egy kisebb autóért fizettünk, de végül egy sokkal magasabb kategóriába esőt kaptunk, klímával, mindennel. Benzinpolitikájuk teli-teli, azaz annyival kell visszavinned a tankot, amennyivel elvitted. Mi kb. 25 €-ért tankoltunk a két napra összesen, és ennyi bőven elég is, ha csak a környéken terveztek barangolni. Ja, és a hosszabb távú, azaz 5 napos, vagy 1 hetet meghaladó bérléseknél még kedvezőbb az egy napra jutó összeg.

Parkolási és útdíjak

Ha autót béreltek, érdemes figyelni arra, hogy az A22-es útszakasz fizetős. Fizetőkapus rendszer működik, az útdíjak pedig (véleményem szerint) elég drágák, így érdemes kerülni, és az N125-ös úton menni. Ez sem sokkal lassabb, mindössze kb. 5-15 perccel értek oda később egy-egy helyre, mintha a fizetős szakaszt választanátok, a Google Maps szerint legalábbis. Érdemes vinnetek GPS-t, vagy töltsétek le a Waze nevű appot, így ugyanis könnyen beállíthatjátok, hogy ne haladjatok fizetős útszakaszokon. A parkolás a legtöbb helyen teljesen ingyenes, pl. partoknál, strandoknál, kisebb városokban, vagy a külvárosi kerületekben. Lagosban előszezonban csak reggel 9 és este 7 között kell fizetni a parkolásért, főszezonban ez már némileg kitolódik, de éjszaka olyankor sem kell. Érdemes tehát egész nap mászkálni, és csak estefelé visszatérni, amikor már díjmentesen parkolhattok.

Szállások

Mint mindig, most is bookingon foglaltam magunknak szállást. Indulás előtti héten volt egy kis problémánk, ugyanis figyelmen kívül hagytam, hogy a hotel érkezés előtt biztonsági letétként zárol egy bizonyos összeget (kb. 10.000 Ft-ot), amit a becsekkoláskor feloldanak, mintegy kaucióként. Egyik hajnalban kaptunk sms-t róla, hogy sikertelen volt a tranzakció (nem volt elég pénz a kártyámon), 24 órán belül törlik a foglalást. Kisebb idegbaj után sikerült végül megoldani a problémát, a recepciós nagyon kedves és türelmes volt, úgyhogy szerencsére minden rendeződött. Azért döntöttem a Hotel Lagosmar mellett, mert közel volt a központhoz, éjjel-nappali recepció van, késői becsekkolással (kb. este 10-re értünk ugyanis ide), és reggeli is van az árban. A szoba méretét illetően kicsit csalódtunk, mert a képekhez képest nagyon picikét kaptunk, de a szuper tetőterasz és a bőséges reggeli kárpótolt mindenért. Naponta takarítják a szobákat, többször kaptunk tiszta törülközőt is, szóval azt kell mondjam, ezért az árért el lettünk kényeztetve :D Egy hétre fejenként kb. 37.000 Ft-ot, azaz nagyjából 115 €-t fizettünk. Ennél olcsóbb szállások is vannak egyébként, már akár heti 25.000 Ft-ért is meg tudtok szállni hostelekben! Csak viszonyításképpen: Budapesten a hasonló kategóriájú szállások többnyire ennél drágábbak! Egy éven keresztül minden második hétvégét Pesten töltve volt alkalmam kitapasztalni...

Éttermek

A kaján többnyire spórolni szoktunk utazás alatt, így gyakran pizzázunk, vagy olcsóbb, kisebb éttermeket választunk. Meglepődve tapasztaltuk, hogy Portugáliában az árak egyáltalán nincsenek elszállva, más európai országokhoz viszonyítva. Például Olaszországban egy teljesen átlagos, olcsónak számító étteremben 10-13 €-tól kezdődnek a főételek, még a tésztaételek is. Portugáliában sokszor már 5-8 €-ért olyan főételeket raknak eléd, hogy megszólal. Lagosban kicsit magasabbak az árak, de amikor éppen vízeséslesre indultunk, megálltunk a Mealhas környékén található Cafe Restaurante Horta nevű helyen, ahol 9 €-ért kaptunk egy óriási csirkés, zöldséges, garnélás saslikot rengeteg krumplival és salátával. Faróban 8€-ba került egy olyan isteni és kiadós lasagne, hogy még Olaszországban sem ettem ilyet, pláne ilyen olcsón. Lagosban többnyire ezeken a helyeken ettünk:

MAR Restaurante & Bar: gyönyörű kilátással rendelkező étterem és bár, közel a Praia dos Estudantes nevű strandhoz. Nagyon gyakran megfordultunk itt, a végén már mosolyogva üdvözölt minket az egyik felszolgáló. A tészta- és halételek kicsit drágábbak, viszont nagyon finomak. Ha olcsón szeretnétek megúszni, akkor pedig érdemes a bagettek és hambik közül választani, amikhez sült krumpli is jár és nagyon kiadósak. Amiért még gyakran visszajártunk ide, az a mennyei sajttorta bogyós gyümölcsökkel - ha lejjebb görgettek, láthatjátok is.
Mamma Mia Pizzeria: nagyon finom pizzák, nagyon olcsón, akár elvitelre is - gyorsan, szinte percek alatt el is készítik. Mivel közel volt a hely a szállásunkhoz, sokszor kértük elvitelre a pizzát, és a tetőteraszon ettük meg. 6-10 € körül mozog egy normál méretű pizza ára, és ketten mindig jóllaktunk belőle, de óriás pizzát is vehettek 14€-ért, és még úgy is 7€-ból megvacsiztok fejenként.
Casa do Zé: ez a hely szintén közel volt a szállásunkhoz, nem a legolcsóbb, viszont mindenképp ki akartuk próbálni, mert iszonyú hangulatos. Főleg halételek szerepelnek a kínálatban és nagyon sok helyi fordul meg itt, tehát nem a tipikus turistáknak fenntartott hely. Igazi kis családi vállalkozás, egy imádnivaló néni a tulaj/felszolgáló. Ha szeretitek a sült halat, és szeretnétek egy igazi portugál helyre beülni, akkor próbáljátok ki ezt az éttermet!

Mit érdemes felfedezni Lagosban?

Mindenképp tegyetek egy (vagy inkább több) sétát a történelmi központban. A szűk, zegzugos, macskaköves utcákon élmény bóklászni, ráadásul séta közben rengeteg izgalmas falfestményre is bukkanhatsz. A csodaszép bejárati ajtókról és csempével kirakott házikókról nem is beszélve!

Strandok: Lagosban több strand közül is választhattok. Mindegyik gyönyörű a maga módján, de véleményem szerint minél messzebb mentek a központtól, annál drámaibb szépségű lesz a partszakasz. Mi az összes nagyobb strandot kipróbáltuk, a kikötőtől a Ponta da Piedadéig haladva:

Praia da Batata: vagy magyarul Burgonya Part (olyan vicces neve van!) egy laposabb partszakasz, puha homokkal, családoknak ideális. Természetes árnyék nem igazán van, ezért érdemes napernyőt vinni. Szeles időben hűvösebb lehet ezen a parton, mint a sziklák által közrefogott kisebb strandokon. A közelben van étterem és egy (drága) kisbolt is.
Praia dos Estudantes: a sziklákba vájt járatokon keresztül könnyedén át lehet sétálni a Praia da Batatáról erre a partra, és fordítva. Nekünk az egyik kedvencünk lett, mert elég volt a lépcsőn felmenni és a kedvenc éttermünkhöz jutottunk (MAR restaurant). Gyönyörűek errefelé a sziklák, de érdemes vigyázni, hova lépünk, mert rengeteg a kagyló a homokban, elég szúrós tud lenni. Szélvédett part, késő délután a sziklák természetes árnyékot adnak.
Praia do Pinhão: különleges strand, a többi partra nem igazán jellemző narancssárgás homokkal. Lépcsőn lehet ide lejutni, kicsit messze van bármilyen étteremtől vagy bolttól, így érdemes vinni magunkkal vizet és ennivalót, ha az egész napot itt akarjuk tölteni. A sziklák már kora délelőtt természetes árnyékot adnak.
Praia Dona Ana: viszonylag hosszú partszakasz, csodás sziklákkal határolva. A Praia do Pinhãótól fent a sziklák mentén el lehet sétálni ide. Picit nehézkes a terep így ne strandpapucsban induljatok el, hanem egy strapabíró cipőben (mi papucsban mentünk, nem volt egyszerű). Itt napernyőt és nyugágyakat is bérelhettek a beach barnál 10€-ért.
Praia do Camilo: nagyon messze van, de megéri elsétálni ide, mert szerintem ez a part a leggyönyörűbb az összes közül. Viszonylag kicsi, így érdemes korán érkezni, főleg főszezonban. Napernyőt is érdemes vinni. Csak egy étterem van a közelben, így ebédidőben elég nagy a tömeg. Várni kell, míg leültetnek egy asztalnál, így előfordul hogy akár 20-30 percet is sorban kell állni. Ha ezt el szeretnétek kerülni, hozzatok magatokkal enni- és innivalót, vagy ebédeljetek nagyon korán!

Milyen a víz hőmérséklete? Májusban az Atlanti-óceán meglehetősen hideg, de nem kibírhatatlan. Parttól függően nagyjából 18-19 fokos. Csak elsőre nehéz belemenni, miután megszoktuk a hőfokot, úszni is teljesen kellemes benne, néha egyenesen melegnek éreztük a vizet! Ha nagyon nem bírjátok a hideget, akkor inkább főszezonban menjetek, augusztus környékén van a legmelegebb. Vagy ha többet szeretnétek úszni, béreljetek wetsuitot valahol, ez napi 4-5 €-ba kerül.

Ponta da Piedade: csodás sziklaegyüttes Lagos "csücskénél". Mindenképp érdemes legalább egyszer eljönni ide. Napnyugtakor különleges, lilás fényben tündököl az egész, de úgy sejtem, a napfelkelte az, ami igazán gyönyörű. Mi sajnos lusták voltunk felkelni, és ezt nagyon bánom! :D Rengeteg kajaktúra és hajókirándulás is indul egyébként ide, érdemes valamelyikre befizetni. Na és hol lehet jelentkezni ezekre a kirándulásokra? Szinte lépten nyomon egymást érik a standok a kikötőben és a tengerparti, pálmafákkal szegélyezett sétányokon, úgyhogy egyszerűen nem lehet nem észrevenni őket.

Kikötő: innen indul a legtöbb hajókirándulás, de akkor is érdemes itt szétnézni vagy inni egy kávét valamelyik hangulatos kis helyen, ha egyszerűen csak rajongtok a hajókért.

Mercado Municipal de Lagos: frissen fogott halak és tengeri herkentyűk, helyi sajtok, borok, zöldségek, gyümölcsök és egyéb finomságok várnak ezen a piacon. Én mindig szeretek körbejárni a helyi piacokon utazás közben, még ha nem is veszek semmit. Nagyon hangulatos, és a legtöbb ínyencségből lehet kérni kóstolót is.

Sportok: a vízi sportok szerelmesei rengeteg lehetőség közül választhatnak: jet ski, SUP bérlés, kajakbérlés és szervezett kajaktúrák, szörfözés... Mi Benagilban béreltünk kajakot, valamint egy egynapos szörfszafarin is részt vettünk. Mindkettőről fogok írni részletesebben is!
